Copa

Copa is a label for furniture and product design located in Vienna. Alfred Burzler and Thomas Exner began their work together in 2004 with a design commentary on the 100-year anniversary of the Wiener Werkstätte. Since then the pair has been designing according to their own concepts, returning again and again to the subject of Austrian furniture history. An unconventional approach to design is something the products by Copa have in common; but nevertheless, the requirements of serial production are always kept in mind. With their exact observation of the processes of social change and the prevailing tendencies, Copa occasionally react with a rebelliousness that defies any quick categorisation.
