Helga Schmid is a designer, artist, researcher and educator. She is a resident at Somerset House and Leader of the Graphic and Media Design course at London College of Communication. She was a designer in residence at the Design Museum in London in 2018. Helga has also worked as a researcher at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and as a senior tutor at the Royal College of Art in London. Her work has been exhibited worldwide at venues such as the Serpentine Gallery, the Design Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Dia Art Foundation in New York and Z33 in Hasselt. She has received international awards, including the Type Directors Award and a Fulbright and a DAAD scholarship. Helga Schmid holds a master’s degree from the School of Visual Arts in New York as well as a PhD from the Royal College of Art.
