Maria Stransky

Maria Stransky’s petit-point manufactory founded in 1932 harks back to an era in which prestige and status were expressed first and foremost through exquisite textiles. Maria Stransky makes a variety of products in its own embroidery workshop in the center of Vienna. Keeping faithfully to tradition, classic motifs and images are produced from a palette of more than 800 color tones with up to 2.500 stitches per square inch – thus very easily distinguishable from machine-made products. The petits points adorn a wide range of exclusively hand-made toilet bags, purses, bags, and pictures. Common to all Maria Stransky embroideries is the extremely fine workmanship, which with their elaborate shading make all images appear as if painted.
