Rudolf Scheer & Söhne
For seven generations, shoes from Rudolf Scheer & Söhne have been synonymous with exceptional perfection. Entirely handcrafted in downtown Vienna, the company’s custom-made shoes and accessories combine the highest aesthetic and anatomical standards. Under Rudolf Scheer, the company rose to become one of Europe’s most important and prestigious shoe manufacturers in the second half of the 19th century. In 1878, he was awarded the title “Imperial and Royal Court Shoemaker”. Both Emperor Franz Josef and German Emperor Wilhelm had their shoes made by Rudolf Scheer & Söhne. Starting in the second half of the 20th century, health considerations were also implemented. Carl Ferdinand Scheer was convinced that a shoe had to be not only beautiful and excellently crafted but also good for the foot. This philosophy remains in effect to this day: Markus Scheer has been at the helm of the company since the mid-1990s. For him, the company’s rich tradition serves as the foundation for creating something new. Because at Rudolf Scheer & Söhne, they are convinced that taking care of the feet means taking care of people.
