Sargfabrik – Verein für Integrative Lebensgestaltung

Thirty years ago, Sargfabrik reimagined residential construction. The architecture, designed by the architectural collective BKK-2/BKK-3, emerged from a collaborative process with the people who wanted to live together. What was built was not just a house but a piece of the city: with open courtyards, communal spaces, a swimming facility, and culture and neighborhood life as a natural part of everyday life. To this day, the Sargfabrik demonstrates that good design begins where people take responsibility for one another and spaces are created that make encounters possible.
