Tomáš Baťa University

The Studio of Industrial Design belongs to the Faculty of Multi-media Communications in the Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín and focuses on cooperation between students and firms, also on the production of new products. The main subjects are aesthetics, ergonometry, marketing, and the functionality of design. The Studio of Industrial Design is oriented on minimalist design, linking up with the history of functionalism in Zlín. Graduates and students of the Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín are among the regular winners of prestigious awards, including the Red Dot Design Award. The Faculty regularly takes part in design festivals – Milan, London, New York and Tokyo, to name just a few. In 2015, Red Dot assessed the Faculty as one of the best educational facilities in Europe and America.
