The Institute of Spatial Design in Theory and Research places its main focus on the archetypal architectural analysis of space, spatial perception, light and object. We interpret space here as intensity, as an immanent dimension surrounding us, which intervenes in our mental states and challenges us to question the commonplace and what we are accustomed to. Design projects, studies in light technology and the construction of furniture prototypes are supported, research-based, in the institute workshops and laboratory. The step out of the drawing and towards the material or out of the idea towards architecture is an experience that can be measured in real terms. Communicating this has priority.
