Wolfgang Schön Kunstanstalt für Kupferdruck
Wolfgang Schön works in the historic city center in Vienna. His art institute for copperplate printing is on the mezzanine, the intermediate floor. The firm was founded in 1922 and since 1937 has been located on Naglergasse 4 in the middle of the first Viennese district. Wolfgang Schön has been active as a copperplate printer for more than forty years, having taken over the firm from his father. Using the copperplate process he makes visiting cards, letter cards and stationery, also envelopes. Printing is done just as it was in Albrecht Dürer’s time, on the hand-engraved copperplate– piece by piece, pure handicraft.
