This architectural walking tour illustrates Loos’ spatial concepts alongside Josef Frank’s guiding principle of “the house as a path and a space” in the iconic Villa Beer.
 

Starting at the Festival Headquarters, where participants will learn more about the architecture of the former Allianz headquarters designed by Harry Glück, the walk leads to six single-family homes in Hietzing designed by Adolf Loos. The highlight of the tour is the equally impressive and unique spatial continuum of Villa Beer, where a brief stop on the ground floor allows visitors to experience Josef Frank’s concept of “the house as a path and a space”. The tour of the Loos houses takes place from the outside, with the spatial configurations discussed using floor plans and photos.
