LOBMEYR FLAGSHIP STORE

1., Kärntner Straße 26

23

This year’s showcase in the LOBMEYR Flagship Store promises us a reunion with some old acquaintances – in two senses! Exactly ten years ago, the Israeli-Dutch-Japanese duo BCXSY worked together with the traditional Viennese glass producers for the first time at the invitation of the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK and designed the set of tumblers “J(oy) & L(ove)” as part of the format Passionswege and in allusion to the initials of the Lobmeyr brothers. Following these formally complementary drinking glasses (Who recalls the legendary single party in 2014?), Boaz Cohen and Sayaka Yamamoto have now developed a lighting series in which unique crystal elements and components from chandeliers from the LOBMEYR archive are set in a filigree brass structure that enables them to glow even more brightly. The lighting objects of the series, which are being fittingly celebrated on 27.9. in the presence of BCXSY, are conceived as table lamps but can also be adapted for wall mounting or executed as crystal chandeliers with additional light sources to offer more spatial illumination.

In parallel with BCXSY: ARCHIVE LIGHTS, LOBMEYR is presenting the Passionswege project TAMED IMBALANCE with the designer Flora Lechner in the workshop in Salesianergasse.
