What happens when an office building suddenly becomes a Festival Headquarters? And what do you find when you peek behind the doors that no one else walks through (anymore)? This tour takes participants through the hidden corners of the Festival Headquarters: to floors, rooms, and hallways that are otherwise off-limits to the public. Alexandra Brückner, Head of Production, will explain to participants how the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, as a short-term tenant, breathes new life into a vacant building, what challenges temporary use entails, and guide them in exploring the unique features of this building. From one of the most beautiful views of the city all the way down to the hidden bowling alley in the basement, from unassuming office hallways to a surreal supplier entrance – for a moment, time seems to lose its rhythm: Are we still in the here and now, or already in a past version and parallel world of this building?
