As part of the festival format Urban Food & Design, the Vienna Business Agency and the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK launched two Biofabrique Vienna Challenges centered on Wiener Farben (Viennese colors) – natural dyes made from previously unused organic waste materials.

Anna Perugini, the winner of the “Applied Colours” challenge, explores the potential of Viennese colors beyond the realm of textiles in her installation. Drawing on the concept of Biofabrique Vienna, she reinterprets the idea of the Viennese Gesamtkunstwerk and applies the colors to everyday objects, surfaces, and various materials.
