Children's Workshop

Sophie Lingg, Helena Schmidt, VIENNA DESIGN WEEK

  • Workshop: 3.10.2020, 4pm–5.30pm

Festivalzentrale im Amtshaus Theresienbadgasse

12., Theresienbadgasse 3

During a tour of the neighborhood, children explore and photograph the public realm. They join the workshop leaders in a search for gaps and ask themselves the following questions: How is the public realm structured and where does it have (apparent) gaps? What is a gap in the public realm? How are open spaces used? What differentiates the 12th district in general and the area around the Festival Headquarters in particular from other neighborhoods and districts in Vienna? At the end of the excursion, the photographs that have been taken are graphically edited using analog means and artistically analyzed in the search for collectively usable public open space. The resulting works can be taken home.
