In their joint lecture, Anna Valentiny and Jerome Becker will offer insights into their work at the intersection of architecture, publishing, and curatorial practice.

On the occasion of the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, two Luxembourgish architecture experts – Anna Valentiny, a partner at Valentiny hvp Architects and founder and managing director of Point Nemo Publishing, and Jerome Becker, co-founder and co-director of the Vienna exhibition space MAGAZIN and co-initiator of the Vienna Architecture Summer School – will come together. The starting point of their conversation is their long-standing collaboration on ADATO, an independent architecture journal published since 2016 that promotes interdisciplinary discourse and offers a platform for the exchange of ideas. With an internationally networked editorial team, ADATO deliberately navigates between local and global perspectives and challenges established narratives in architectural and cultural production. Using selected projects as examples, Valentiny and Becker highlight two distinct forms of curatorial practice: the design of exhibitions as a spatial staging of content and the development of publications as a medium for reflection and discourse. The lecture draws parallels between these two fields of work, reveals their respective characteristics, and explores the curation of ideas, knowledge, and stories as an independent creative act.
