A contemporary cabinet of curiosities showcasing materials: At the invitation of Amizzi store founder Maria Klupp, the Marion Friedmann Gallery, based in London and Mexico City, presents a selection of extraordinary works from its international program. Marion Friedmann, a native of Austria, is one of the few European gallery owners with a longstanding focus on contemporary Latin American design. Highlights on display at the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK include concrete furniture by Austrian artist Stefan Buxbaum, luminous resin sculptures by the Spanish duo Las Ánimas, a chandelier made from plastic waste by Mexico-based “plastic alchemist” Thierry Jeannot, bronze works by Mexican artist Emilio Flores, and other selected objects made of glass, ceramics, and textiles – an invitation to marvel and collect.
