A sculptural installation made of bio-based materials integrates herb and vegetable gardening into everyday urban life.

With GROW AND GATHER, the Slovak design and research studio Crafting Plastics! demonstrates how bio-based materials can be used as infrastructure for urban farming. Hosted by Alice Stori Lichtenstein (Schloss Hollenegg for Design), the installation consists of sculptural growing structures in which edible herbs and vegetables grow entirely without soil. The project culminates in a performative brunch, during which the produce grown in the installation is harvested, prepared by a guest chef, and enjoyed together at the table. In this way, the artwork becomes a collective experience of growing, harvesting, and eating.
