HISTORY OF VIENNA’S POP AND SUBCULTURE
Wien Popkultour
- 1.10.2025, 5pm–7.30pm
Geri Hollerer (Wien Popkultour) (Treffpunkt: Wiener Konzerthaus)
Music nerd, record collector, and amateur music historian Geri Hollerer follows in the footsteps of legendary local musicians and pioneers. The city walk takes you to locations in the city center that have had a major impact on pop and subcultural life in Vienna over the past 70 years. From jazz and pop music of the 1950s to folk music of the 1960s and the disco era of the late 1970s to the fusion of visual arts with musical avant-garde: Popkultour offers plenty of funny anecdotes, insider stories, song samples, photos, videos, books, and, of course, records to discover. The tour starts in front of the Wiener Konzerthaus and ends at Ballgasse 6 in the 1st district.
A binding reservation must be made in advance.
Please be at the meeting point 15 minutes before the start of the tour.
