IMMER WIEDER MEHRWEG!
OekoBusiness Wien, VIENNA DESIGN WEEK
- Conference: 25.9.2024, 11am–5pm
FESTIVAL HEADQUARTERS 2024
Recycling is often emphasized as a central component of sustainability strategies. However, this could be done much earlier – more fundamentally! – in the consumption cycle. According to the 10 R principles of the circular economy, reuse actually offers far greater potential for savings and leads to lower material losses. The idea of reusability is by no means new – just think of an often overlooked design classic from the late 1960s: the “Perlenflasche” by Günter Kupetz. Design plays a decisive role in the introduction of reusable systems – both for consumers and for companies. And the topic has become particularly topical in view of the impending implementation of reusable regulations from January 2025.
As part of the Re:Form format, OekoBusiness Vienna and the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK are organizing the specialist conference IMMER WIEDER MEHRWEG!. Experts from the fields of design, strategic consulting, research, and administration will discuss how design, industry, and retail need to work together to bring the reuse and recycling of products back into focus.
