What began seven years ago as a digital planning tool has evolved into MissionAcoustic – a platform that connects architects and interior designers with sustainable, design-oriented acoustic solutions from more than 40 renowned brands. On the occasion of the 20th edition of the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, this world will become tangible for the first time: an exhibition format at the intersection of design, room acoustics, science, and technology not only brings the platform to life as a multi-part experience but also showcases it through a ten-meter-long acoustic tunnel.
This immersive journey through sound, materials, and contemporary acoustic design showcases experimental prototypes developed in collaboration with the University of Applied Arts Vienna and through the joint efforts of students, designers, and leading acoustic brands acunic, CEWE, Oido, PREFORM, and Rockfon, alongside an unconventional main installation that brings together products, materials, mounting systems, reference projects, and new application possibilities.
In addition, nine design objects by emerging designers and brands are presented in dedicated showcases, alongside 24 curated material worlds featuring sustainable and innovative acoustic materials from around the world.
MissionAcoustic’s first acoustic design exhibition is also available digitally: spread across the 400 m² exhibition space, a second layer is hidden, where visitors can collect materials, designs, colours and products and compile them into their own moodboard. Anyone currently in the planning phase of a project can learn in just a few minutes, without any prior knowledge, how to incorporate room acoustics into an architectural concept.

DESIGN OBJECTS
Eight objects by designers, studios, and manufacturers from five countries: lamps that absorb sound, surfaces that diffuse it, louvers that zone spaces, a seating object, and a sensory system for a moment of calm.
