The Vienna gallery bel etage presents unique pieces by female artists of the Wiener Werkstätte in dialogue with furniture and objects by enfant terrible Dagobert Peche.

ORNAMENT IN MOTION brings together furniture and objects by Dagobert Peche, who is known for his opulent, floral designs and multi-layered functional objects. The exhibition places his works in relation to those of his female contemporaries at the Wiener Werkstätte and within the Viennese Women’s Art movement, including Jutta Sika, Gudrun Baudisch, Mathilde Flögl, Felice Rix-Ueno, Christa Ehrlich, Fritzi Löw, and Anny Schröder-Ehrenfest. The showcase opens up new perspectives on the Wiener Werkstätte as a collaborative design network, highlights the contributions of its female artists, and thus creates a space for discovery – for anyone interested in design, art history, and Viennese Modernism.
