A design classic becomes a shared canvas, challenging the boundaries between use and preservation.

OUT OF LINE is a participatory installation by Afterhour Furniture that explores how we engage with design classics – objects that straddle the line between everyday items and collector’s pieces. In the concept store’s showroom, a sofa becomes a communal drawing surface: Participants draw while blindfolded, without any expectation of perfection and with no age restrictions. In this way, the piece of furniture becomes a testament to collective use and invites visitors to redefine the boundaries between use and preservation.
