In the culinary performance by the Berlin-based food design studio RAT Supper Club, the eco-social ethos of The Social Hub and the design principles of Friedensreich Hundertwasser come together.

The Social Hub, a European hospitality brand, blends traditional hotel stays with community-oriented experiences and, as a Certified B Corporation, is firmly committed to social and environmental sustainability. As part of its diverse impact program, The Social Hub will host a special dinner experience during partner festivals VIENNA DESIGN WEEK and Vienna Future Food Week. The dinner both translates the philosophy and aesthetics of the renowned Austrian painter, architect, and environmental activist Friedensreich Hundertwasser into a spatial and culinary performance and also reflects the venue’s commitment to sustainability, recognized by the Austrian and European Union Ecolabel. At the invitation of The Social Hub, RAT Supper Club, a Berlin-based studio operating at the intersection of cuisine, art, architecture, and design, is creating an experience in which nature becomes the central design element. The installation deliberately breaks away from Hundertwasser’s vibrant color palettes, instead drawing inspiration from his “Mold Manifesto” of 1958. The experience is conceived as a sensory journey in which taste, space, and staging converge.

Throughout the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, The Social Hub will host the large-scale installation CHIMAERE by flexi studio featuring experimental research, biodegradable materials, and aspects of decay. Additionally, flexi studio will contribute to the design of the culinary performance for RAT Supper Club.
