The interactive installation THEMIS DANUBE gives the Danube ecosystem a voice and a presence.

THEMIS DANUBE is an interactive installation that gives the Danube ecosystem a voice and brings it to life. More than one hundred native animal, plant, fungal, and microbial species form fleeting faces that continuously emerge, transform, and dissolve. By dipping their hands into a basin of water, visitors can alter the audiovisual composition and trigger spoken fragments. The installation encourages us to experience the Danube not just as a resource or landscape, but as a living community of which we are a part of.

The VIENNA DESIGN WEEK is presenting this project as part of DONAURAUM, a group of projects that explore the river that defines Vienna.
