An interdisciplinary exploration of art, design, and archeology, and of the history of ceramic colors and their present and future meaning: During this year’s VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, LAUFEN is presenting the research project “Colour Archaeology” by Roberto Sironi. As a highlight of the showcase, the designer will give a keynote speech on 23.9. about the significance of archaeological color research for today and what can be transferred from history, craft techniques, nature, and reduced resources into future design. The keynote will be supplemented by inputs and visions from other experts. With their presentations, they will take a leap into the future and invite guests join in the discussion.

The experimental color research project “Colour Archaeology” by Roberto Sironi can be seen as an interdisciplinary exploration of art, design, and archeology, and of the history of ceramic colors. In his keynote, the Italian designer talks about the importance of the findings of this intense multidisciplinary research for the present and the future.
In the subsequent talk “Sustainable. Regenerative. Future oriented.” Patrick Lüth (Snøhetta) sketches out some visions in the spirit of a sustainable and regenerative architecture: The transdisciplinary office Snøhetta enhances sustainability concepts with aspects of regenerative architecture as a way of making a contribution for the future in the form of resilient and adaptable projects.
