The junction between Ottakringer Straße and Wattgasse is an unusual place in the neighborhood: For while many streets and squares in the 16th district have already been modernized and transformed into popular meeting places, very few people seem to hang around here. But why is this the case and how can the square be upgraded for the long term? As part of the pilot project Ums Eck, which is being carried out in cooperation with the Vienna Economic Chamber, the design studio ante up developed the concept OTTA ⨯ WATT, which is designed to enhance the quality of life of the neighborhood. By involving local businesses, a special intervention was developed that responds directly to their needs and is now being presented during the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK.
