UNDER THE SURFACE showcases selected graduation projects and design-build projects from the Bachelor’s program in Interior Architecture and 3D Design at New Design University (NDU). Interior design is understood here as a specialized discipline of adaptive reuse: It views existing structures as a valuable resource and develops them in a forward-looking manner. The projects on display explore strategies for extending, repurposing, and spatially transforming existing architecture and illustrate how new atmospheres, sustainable usage concepts, and innovative spatial solutions can be created.
