The exhibition UNUSED MATTERS showcases the development of a transferable method for circular material practices within industrial systems.

In their research project UNUSED MATTERS, mischer'traxler studio and bioregional.agency, in collaboration with LAUFEN, are investigating how industrial waste materials such as filter cake, ceramic shards, and glaze dust can be integrated into existing production processes as alternative materials. The installation showcases prototypes, material tests, and developments from LAUFEN’s production site in Gmunden as starting points for potential scaling, thereby highlighting regional value chains and areas of application. 

The exhibition serves as the backdrop for a talk on 28.9. at the LAUFEN space Vienna, which will focus on the development of a transferable method for circular material practices within industrial systems.
