What makes an object a collector’s item? Royal Maison and STEININGER explore the theme of collectible design through two complementary exhibitions.

In showrooms located close to one another in downtown Vienna, Royal Maison and STEININGER examine the question of what makes an object a collectible. With “Rabbities”, the design boutique Royal Maison presents reinterpreted figures by Japanese designer Rumiko Takeda, created by invited artists. Meanwhile, at the nearby STEININGER showroom, visitors can view design objects – all crafted in the company’s own workshop in Upper Austria – ranging from architectural kitchens and sculptural tables to home accessories. Through their thematically linked showcases, the companies explore the topic of collectible design from two different perspectives and invite visitors on a journey of discovery between the two locations.
