In the second floor of the Solarium, students of the Studio of Experimental Design of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava presented their own view of the impact of the digital revolution. Rather than losing itself in the digital era, the exhibition explored new paths, which can also mean finding oneself in unknown and, hence, often also frightening territory. Today, more than ever, we see ourselves forced to cope with a new situation and to reevaluate our experiences – both collectively and as individuals. Examples of the translation of this into design objects included three-dimensional information graphics on environmental issues, analog censor bars, or colorful shifts in our visual perception.

The exhibition was not the only opportunity to lose oneself in the digital age at VIENNA DESIGN WEEK 2020. For the Studio of Experimental Design of the AFAD also provided the digital space “Sturdy Keen World”, in which one could approach the design students with the help of VR.
