In a dialogue with Gabriel Roland, the director of the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK, the question arises as to what the anniversary means for his festival.
 

The 20th VIENNA DESIGN WEEK is a particularly festive anniversary and, at the same time, another perfectly regular edition of a festival that, despite its recognizability, feels fresh year after year. Gabriel Roland, who has been working for the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK for nearly ten years and has been directing it for almost five, offers insights into the anniversary program in a casual conversation with the participants. He spans the spectrum from retrospective to vision, from discourse to celebration, and from little stories to history. The program includes the Passionswege format, the already infamous Anniversary Tour that happened in the first half of the year, and anecdotes about the design festival that so many have come to love over the past two decades.
