Laboratory

The Laboratory offers free scope for a certain period of time for two design teams with a background of product design, graphic design, or architecture. With Vienna (Hi) stories as its motto, the Laboratory focused this year on its immediate environment. The designers’ approaches proved to be more diverse than ever: while the first couple sought street contact with the residents of the 10th district, the second team’s experiment was based on the identity of the Brotfabrik Wien – an anchor point of an all-embracing conceptual approach and reflection. Personal talks and room filling sketches made the Laboratory as always into a place of participatory experiment and encounter.
