Stadtarbeit

The projects in the Stadtarbeit format showed yet again that design is not only a question of creatively designed utility objects. Program items dealing with social design created places of encounter for interaction and interpersonal exchange that aimed to encourage a rethinking of our everyday lives together and new action spaces. Five projects – all in the focus district of Favoriten – revealed exceptionally creative qualities and potential in dealing with social issues. Intensive and unconventional in their presentation form, they illustrated what opportunities are offered by design in our democratic life together.
