PROGRAM PARTNERS 2020
Despite the crisis, the PROGRAM PARTNERS format convinced visitors in 2020 with its varied insights into the Vienna design scene and beyond. Austrian and international companies, museums, institutions, galleries, and design offices were invited to present themselves during the ten-day festival in the form of temporary contributions. As every year, these partnerships, which were distributed throughout the city but also via the internet, provided many of the highlights of VIENNA DESIGN WEEK. Project presentations, artworks, experiments, exhibitions, popups, events, product presentations, performances, workshops, installations, education programs – the PROGRAM PARTNERS enriched the festival in a wide variety of ways. Their engagement with the program items, which were organized by them and selected by the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK team, represented an element that was key to the success of the festival and illustrated Austria’s excellent creative industries with their international contacts. In this crisis year, we are particularly proud of the fact that the festival in early autumn was perfectly corona-compliant. This was only possible thanks to the strong, exemplary, and passionate collaboration with our wonderful partners.
